Meet our Minister

Rev. Christina Garza is the Senior Minister of Unity of Nashville. She has been a Unity Truth/New Thought student for over 18 years.  She graduated and became a licensed minister through the Unity Urban Ministerial School in Detroit, MI in 2018 and was ordained by Unity Worldwide Ministries in June 2019.  Also, a certified Q Effect/Q Process facilitator and coach, she regularly offers workshops and trainings.

Rev. Christina is passionate about the Unity message of affirmative prayer and inherent Divinity, and wants to share it with the world.  Her personal ministry focuses on spiritual liberation and engaging diverse communities including LGBTQ, low-income, and Spanish-speaking/Latino populations.  Since being at Unity of Nashville she has been featured in the Unity Lenten Booklet, 40 days of Letting Go (both in English and Spanish) for March 19th, 2023, as well as started Services, and Meditations in Spanish. She was born and raised in Chicago, but is very connected to her Mexican roots, as well as her "Spanglish" identity, and is committed to developing bi-lingual and Spanish Unity services.

Christina has more than 25 years of experience working with and in nonprofit organizations as a community activist, nonprofit executive, foster care advocate, and participatory action researcher.  She has dedicated her career to supporting social justice, equity, and improving people's daily lives.  For the last 13 years, she administered her private consulting firm that specializes in organizational development, evaluation, and funds development.  She holds a Master's degree in Political Science from the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor and is ABD (All but Dissertation) in her Doctoral work in Political Philosophy.

Christina’s greatest blessing is her family which includes her wife, Veronica, her daughter, Isabella, and their highly intelligent Shih Tzu, Cutie.  When she's not buried under books reading for work or pleasure, she enjoys salsa dancing, shoe shopping, antiquing, and traveling.
